MOLI the mobile learning coach Get Out of the Office!

MOLI (Mobile Online Learning Initiative) is a broadband satellite enabled coach, equipped with ten student and one instructor workstations. MOLI is a self contained mobile training classroom, that can be taken anywhere in Scotland to deliver on site training.

The most advanced vehicle of its type in The United Kingdom, a cutting edge facility with the flexibility to deliver training, when and where it is needed. Since April 2003 MOLI has been travelling across Scotland delivering training wherever it is needed. From Stranraer to Peterhead and Hawick to Stornoway. Over 4000 people have been onboard for classes, seminars and awareness raising workshops.

Mini MOLI - The Next Step in Mobile Learning

The mini MOLI vehicles are a unique concept that incorporates an onboard satellite solution that allows the connection and sharing of broadband to a remote location or any location that does not have easy access to the world wide web. The vehicle can be driven by any person with a normal driving licence and setup easily, so that any person without IT knowledge can use them successfully. They initiate a satellite dish on the roof of the vehicle and when this has successfully communicated to the satellite it then beams the signal to any structure via a WiFi connection.

The vehicle has 12 laptops in the rear cabin which can be set up within any establishment. Utilising Wi Fi technolgy they can then connect back to the vehicle and then onto the World Wide Web. The flexibility of the vehicle then allows them to be used for anything from IT training to awareness workshops. They can also be setup with up to date technologies that can then be demonstrated. Training In Any Location

MOLI is a relatively self-contained unit with an onboard generator to provide power to PCs, airconditioning and lighting, which means it is able to travel to any location. The only extra requirement would be facilities for delegates attending courses, for example, refreshments. This means that MOLI is truely a mobile learning unit!
